We are planning to put together a medical mission of nephrologist doctors and nurses to Kenya, Africa where we plan to open a new dialysis clinic in Kenya. There are less that 60 dialysis machines in Kenya (a country that is almost as big as Texas) which makes dialysis treatment inaccessible and very expensive and only the rich can afford it. It is only offered by private hospitals and therefore there are so many regular renal failure patients who have continue to die undeservedly because either they are unable to afford to continue paying for the costly dialysis treatments or they do not even have access to quality dialysis care. We plan to start a dialysis clinic in one of the remote and most affected areas in Kenya called Naivasha. We would be glad if any interested nephrology doctors and nurses can contact us for more info.
